What Makes a Name Read as a Pirate Ship Name

A ship name is not a character name, and the difference is the first thing to get right. People are named with a single word that belongs to them. Ships are named with a noun phrase that the crew puts an article in front of: the Revenge, the Fancy, the Adventure.
